Post Office Recruitment 2024: Over 45,000 Vacancies Announced
A significant recruitment drive for 2024 has been announced, presenting a valuable opportunity for individuals seeking government employment. This recruitment aims to fill over 45,000 positions across various departments, with the possibility of more vacancies being added. The selection process for these roles will include an examination.
Available Vacancies
This recruitment drive includes multiple key positions:
- MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff): These roles are for general support and operational tasks.
- Postman: Responsible for mail delivery and related duties.
- Mail Guard: Involved in the sorting and dispatch of mail.
- PA (Postal Assistant): These positions handle administrative and customer service tasks within the postal system.
- SA (Sorting Assistant): Focused on sorting and processing mail efficiently.
- Clerk: Additional clerical positions will also be available, with a separate notification to be issued.
It is noted that the notification for MTS roles is expected first, followed by Postman and Mail Guard. Separate notifications will be released for Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant positions. Previously, a recruitment for GDS (Gramin Dak Sevak) with 4,422 posts was also conducted.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Details
This recruitment is open to eligible male and female candidates from across India, allowing applications from any state or district.
- Total Vacancies: The current notice indicates a total of 45,800 vacancies.
- Minimum Qualification: Candidates must have at least passed the 10th class to be eligible for some positions.
- Age Limit: The minimum age for applicants is 18 years, with a maximum age limit of 40 years.
- Age Relaxation: Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories: 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates.
- Salary: Selected candidates can expect a salary ranging from a minimum of Rs. 18,000 to a maximum of Rs. 81,000.
- Application Fee: General and OBC category candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 100, which must be paid online. SC/ST candidates are exempt from paying any fee.
- Application Mode: All applications must be submitted online.
Post-Wise Educational Qualifications
Specific educational qualifications are required for different posts:
- MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff): 10th Pass.
- Postman: 12th Pass or Graduate.
- Mail Guard: Graduate.
- PA (Postal Assistant) / SA (Sorting Assistant): Graduate.
- Clerk: Graduate.

Essential Documents for Application

- Educational Marksheets: All mark sheets, starting from the 10th class, are required. It is crucial that the name, date of birth, father’s name, and mother’s name entered in the online application exactly match the details on your 10th class mark sheet.
- Government-Issued ID Proof: A valid government ID such as an Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License is necessary. An Aadhaar Card is generally sufficient.
- Mobile Number: A personal mobile number is mandatory for communication and receiving updates.
- Email ID: A valid email address is required to receive important information from the department.
- Photographs: At least four passport-sized photographs are needed.
- Address Proof: For document verification, proof of address such as a Ration Card, Aadhaar Card, or electricity bill may be required.
- Other Certificates: Any other relevant certificates you possess may also be included.
