The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for SSC GD Constable recruitment, inviting online applications from eligible candidates. Online applications for the SSC GD Constable positions began on September 5th and will conclude on October 14th. The Computer Based Test (CBT) for this recruitment is scheduled to take place in January-February 2025.

This year’s recruitment drive is for over 39,400 posts, making it a bumper vacancy for 2024. A total of 39,408 posts are available, with 3,869 vacancies for female candidates and 35,539 for male candidates.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates who are 10th pass are eligible to apply for these SSC GD Constable vacancies.
Age Limit
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not more than 23 years old. The age will be calculated as of January 1, 2025.
Age Relaxation
Age relaxation benefits are provided as per government rules:
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- OBC candidates: 3 years
- Ex-servicemen and PWD candidates: Category-wise relaxation applies.
Salary and Job Location
Selected candidates will receive a salary ranging from Rs. 21,700 to approximately Rs. 69,000 per month. The basic pay scale is from Rs. 18,800 to Rs. 56,900 per month, along with other benefits. The job location for these posts will be all over India.
Application Fee
- General and OBC candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 100.
- SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying any application fee.
- The payment for the application fee must be done online.
Selection Process
The selection process for SSC GD Constable recruitment is comprehensive and includes the following stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): An online examination will be conducted.
- Physical Test: This includes a physical standard test and physical efficiency test, comprising running, high jump, and long jump.
- Medical Test: A medical examination will be conducted to ensure candidates meet the required health standards.
Computer Based Test (CBT) Pattern
The CBT will consist of four parts (A, B, C, D) and candidates will be allotted 60 minutes to complete the exam. There will be a total of 80 questions, with each question carrying 2 marks, making the total marks for the exam 160. There will also be negative marking, which candidates should keep in mind while attempting the test.
