The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for SSC GD Constable recruitment, inviting online applications from eligible candidates. This year’s recruitment drive is for over 39,400 posts, making it a bumper vacancy for 2024. A total of 39,408 posts are available, with 3,869 vacancies for female candidates and 35,539 for male candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Age Limit

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not more than 23 years old. The age will be calculated as of January 1, 2025.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation benefits are provided as per government rules:

  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years
  • OBC candidates: 3 years

Salary and Job Location

  • SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying any application fee.

Selection Process

The selection process for SSC GD Constable recruitment is comprehensive and includes the following stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): An online examination will be conducted.
  2. Physical Test: This includes a physical standard test and physical efficiency test, comprising running, high jump, and long jump.
  3. Medical Test: A medical examination will be conducted to ensure candidates meet the required health standards.

Computer Based Test (CBT) Pattern

The CBT will consist of four parts (A, B, C, D) and candidates will be allotted 60 minutes to complete the exam. There will be a total of 80 questions, with each question carrying 2 marks, making the total marks for the exam 160. There will also be negative marking, which candidates should keep in mind while attempting the test.
