RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024: Non-Technical Popular Categories Vacancies Announced
The Government of India, Ministry of Railway, through the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), has issued a new bumper vacancy notification for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) for the year 2024. This recruitment drive, with notification numbers 05/2024 and 06/2024, offers opportunities at both Graduate and Under Graduate levels. A total of 11,558 posts have been released, and applications are being invited online from eligible candidates across India.

Application Dates
The application dates vary for the two levels of vacancies.
- Graduate Pass Candidates: Applications will be accepted from September 14th to October 13th.
- Under Graduate Pass Candidates: Applications will be accepted from September 21st to October 20th.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The minimum age requirement for these vacancies is 18 years, and the maximum age is 36 years. Age relaxation is also provided as per government rules:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years relaxation.
- OBC Candidates: 3 years relaxation.
Salary Structure
Selected candidates will receive a salary ranging from Rs. 27,000 to Rs. 81,000 per month.

- General/OBC Candidates: Rs. 500

Selection Process
The selection process for RRB NTPC recruitment involves multiple stages:
- CBT Exam: There will be two stages of Computer-Based Tests (CBT Stage 1 and CBT Stage 2).
- Medical Exam: Candidates who clear the CBTs will undergo a medical examination.
- Document Verification: Finally, document verification will be conducted.
Exam Pattern for CBT Stage 1
The first stage CBT will consist of:
- Total Questions: 100
- Total Marks: 100
- Time Duration: 1.5 hours
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness (GK).
Exam Pattern for CBT Stage 2
The second stage CBT will have a slightly different pattern:
- Total Questions: 120
- Total Marks: 120
- Time Duration: 1.5 hours
- Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness.
Specialized Tests for Specific Posts
For some specific posts, additional tests will be conducted:
- Typing Test: Required for Junior Accountant, Senior Clerk cum Typist, and Time Keeper posts.
- CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test): Required for Traffic Assistant and Station Master posts.
How to Apply Online
Applications for the RRB NTPC vacancies must be submitted online. The process involves a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the official website.
- Account Creation: Candidates need to create an account by providing their full name (and repeating it), indicating any name change, date of birth (and repeating it), gender (and repeating it), father’s name (and repeating it), mother’s name (and repeating it), Aadhar card number, email ID, and mobile number. You will need to verify your Aadhar card, email, and mobile number. A password needs to be created, and a captcha code entered.
- Aadhar Verification: It is mandatory for candidates to verify their Aadhar card. Forms will not be accepted if Aadhar verification is not completed. Ensure your mobile number and email ID are linked with your Aadhar for easy verification.
- Login and Application: After creating an account, candidates can log in using their ID and password, enter the captcha, and proceed to apply for the desired vacancies.
Important Points for Application
Before applying, ensure all necessary documents are ready. These include:
- 10th, 12th, and Graduate mark sheets.
