RPF Recruitment 2023: Bumper Vacancies Announced for Railway Protection Force
Good news for all aspiring candidates! The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has announced bumper vacancies for 2023. This is a significant update for those awaiting RPF (Railway Protection Force / Railway Suraksha Bal) recruitment. The official announcement for this recruitment has been made by the Railway Minister.
RPF Vacancy Details
This year, RPF is recruiting for the posts of Constable and Sub Inspector (SI). More than 12,000 vacancies are expected, with at least 12,000 posts and a likelihood of even more. The application process will be entirely online. This is an All India recruitment, meaning male and female candidates from any state or district across India are eligible to apply.
RPF Selection Process
The selection process for RPF recruitment will involve multiple stages:
- CBT (Computer Based Test): An online examination will be conducted first.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Candidates’ height and chest measurements will be taken.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): This stage includes running, long jump, and high jump.
- Document Verification (DV): Original documents will be verified.
- Medical Examination: A final medical test will be conducted.
RPF Exam Pattern (CBT)
The online CBT will consist of multiple-choice questions across three subjects:
- General Awareness: 50 questions for 50 marks.
- Arithmetic: 35 questions for 35 marks.
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 35 questions for 35 marks.
Candidates will be allotted 90 minutes to complete the exam. It is advisable to create a study timetable and strategy focusing on weaker subjects to ensure success.
RPF Physical Standards Test
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT) have specific requirements for both male and female candidates:
Running
- Male: 1600 meters in 5 minutes 45 seconds.
- Female: 800 meters in 3 minutes 40 seconds.
Long Jump
- Male: 14 feet.
- Female: 9 feet.
High Jump
- Male: 4 feet.
- Female: 3 feet.
Height Requirements
- General/OBC: Male – 165 cm, Female – 157 cm.
- SC/ST: Male – 160 cm, Female – 152 cm.
- Specific requirements for other categories are also applicable.
Chest Measurement (For Male Candidates Only)
- General/OBC: Unexpanded – 80 cm, Expanded – 85 cm (5 cm expansion required).
- SC/ST: Unexpanded – 76.2 cm, Expanded – 81.2 cm.
- Specific requirements for other categories are also applicable. Failure to achieve the required expansion will lead to disqualification.
RPF Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age.
Educational Qualification
- Constable: Minimum 10th Pass.
- Sub Inspector (SI): Graduate Pass. Overall, candidates who are 10th pass, 12th pass, or Graduate pass can apply. For Constable posts, a 10th pass is the minimum, while for other posts, 12th pass and Graduate pass candidates can also apply.
RPF Salary
The salary for selected candidates will range from Rs 21,700 to Rs 35,500 per month.
