DRDO Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment

Overview & Application Process A total of 449 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) posts have been announced. The application process for these positions is offline, requiring candidates to apply by post. All eligible candidates, male and female, from across India, are encouraged to apply today as applications are currently active.

Salary & Selection Method Selected candidates for the JRF role will receive a competitive salary of ₹31,000 per month, along with various allowances. The selection process for these posts is direct and does not involve any written examination. Candidates will be selected based on an interview.

Age Limit & Application Fees Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The maximum age limit for these positions is 35 years. Importantly, there are no application fees for any category; General, OBC, SC, and ST candidates can all apply for free.

Educational Qualifications Candidates applying for the Junior Research Fellow posts should possess a B.E./B.Tech (Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering) in a relevant trade or discipline. Those with an M.E./M.Tech qualification are also eligible to apply.

DRDO Apprentice Vacancy

In addition to the JRF roles, DRDO has also released a large-scale recruitment drive for various Apprentice positions, offering approximately 1500 vacancies.

Overview & Application Process This recruitment includes positions for Trade Apprentice, Diploma Technician Apprentice, and Graduate Apprentice. A total of around 1500 posts are available. The application process for all apprentice positions is strictly online, and no other mode of application will be accepted. These opportunities are open to male and female candidates from all over India.

Selection Process & Benefits For the apprentice roles, the selection will be based purely on merit, meaning there will be no written exam or interview. Selection will primarily involve document verification, and candidates with higher marks will be given priority. Completing an apprenticeship with DRDO can also provide a special quota, making it easier to secure future employment within the organization.

Age Limit & Stipend Candidates applying for apprentice posts should be a minimum of 18 years old and a maximum of 37 years old. Age relaxation will be provided for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL) as per government norms. Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹7,000 to ₹9,000. Similar to the JRF posts, the application fee for all categories (General, OBC, SC, ST) is completely free.

Educational Qualifications for Apprentice Posts The qualifications vary depending on the apprentice type:

  • Graduate Apprentice: Candidates with a B.Sc., B.A., or B.Com degree are eligible.
  • Diploma Apprentice: Those holding a Diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Pan Technology can apply.
  • ITI Apprentice: Candidates who have passed 10th standard along with an ITI certificate in any trade, such as Fitter, Electrician, Laboratory Assistant, Welder, or Office Assistant, are eligible.
