Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Candidates from all over India, both male and female, are encouraged to apply online for these positions. The age limit for applicants is a minimum of 18 years, with a maximum of up to 32 years, though this can vary slightly by post. Age relaxation will also be provided for reserved categories.

Educational qualifications vary depending on the post:

  • TTE, Station Master, Goods Guard: 12th Pass is generally required. For Station Master, graduates can also apply.
  • NTPC: Graduate Pass candidates are eligible.
  • ALP Technician, Group D: Candidates who are 10th Pass or have an ITI qualification can apply. Significantly, there are ample opportunities for 10th pass candidates, particularly in Group D and ALP Technician roles, totaling approximately 1.5 lakh positions.

Application Process and Key Dates

Candidates are advised to prepare as the first Computer Based Test (CBT) is anticipated to be held within the same year.

  • For General and OBC candidates, the fee is ₹500, which is non-refundable.
  • For SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, and EWS candidates, the fee is ₹250. This amount will be refunded after the first stage of the CBT.

Selection Procedure and Salary

The selection process for most railway posts will primarily involve a Computer Based Test (CBT). For certain positions, such as Group D and Goods Guard, a Physical Test will also be conducted. Following these stages, a Medical Test will be mandatory for all posts, succeeded by Document Verification (DV).

The salary for selected candidates will vary based on the specific post, ranging from approximately ₹21,700 to ₹81,000 per month.
